SICSS Bologna

Teaching Assistant, 2022 and 2024 — Summer Institute in Computational Social Science, University of Bologna.

CyberMondays

Methods Instructor — computational social science seminar series.

Topics taught

  • reproducible research with Git and GitHub (version-control concepts, authentication, branching, and merge conflicts);
  • accessing research data through APIs (request methods, authentication, data formats, rate limits, and platform governance);
  • text-as-data workflows (topic modeling, including LDA and Structural Topic Modeling, topic-model selection and validation using coherence, exclusivity, and human-centred checks, keyword-assisted topic modeling and the place of newer approaches such as BERTopic);
  • data provenance, measurement quality, platform-induced bias, and reproducible documentation.

Data-quality training

I participated in the first cohort of the KODAQS Data Quality Academy Certificate Program (2024-2025) https://www.gesis.org/en/gesis-training/kodaqs-academy/kodaqs-data-quality-academy-certificate-program. Its train-the-trainer orientation supports the goal of integrating data provenance, access conditions, measurement error, linkage quality, representativeness, and platform bias directly into computational methods teaching.
